Chesvan and the Number 8

As many of you know, Debbie and I have been on a journey for 19 years understanding our Jewish Roots in Christ Jesus.  We live our lives based on the Hebrew Calendar, the season and timing of our Lord.  Yesterday October 7, 2021 began the eighth Biblical Month of Cheshvan.  Here are some thoughts to help you focus, pray, and walk out the Biblical month of Chesvan:

The Alphabet: NUN-symbolizes Yeshua, King Jesus, Yeshua HaMashiach.  The first letter of the Hebrew alphabet is “Bet” and it is the first letter of Genesis 1:1, Beginning.  “Nun” is the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet and it is the last letter of Revelation 22:21, End.  This month focus on Yeshua, who is our beginning and end, Alpha and Omega, the first and the last.

The Tribe Chesvan represents “Manasseh.” Manasseh means: “For God has made me forget all my toil and all my father’s house.” Genesis 41:51.   This is the month of great grace and mercy.  Look for God working on your behalf to turn around the toil of your past.  Liken to when a mother toils hard for the birth of her child. But when the newborn child is laid on her chest she forgets the toil of labor.  God is restoring the years the locust have eaten.  He making the desert blossom and making water run in dry ground.  Let your faith increase and trust Father God.

The month of Messiah and New Beginnings:  The number "8" signifies eternal revelation and new beginning.  God does things in cycles.  A Greek mindset and understanding is linear, like a straight line: A, B, C, D.  The Hebrew mindset and understanding is cyclical.  God loves new beginnings.  Our salvation is a new beginning.  In Exodus at Passover God told the Israelites that he wanted to start for them a New Calendar, the month of Nissan, a new beginning from 400 years of bondage.  Revelation 21:5 says, “And he sat on the throne and said, ‘Behold I make all things new!’ And He said to me, Write: ‘for these words are true and faithful’.”

What God is saying through number 8 is God wants to change us from shattered and trembling victims to confidant overcomers who can truly do “all things through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:13 Because 8 is the number of New Beginnings, through the Holy Spirit God inspired the writers of His Word to pen eight new things the Lord gives us through His New Covenant.

1. A New Song (Psalms 96:1 and Revelation 5:5-9)
2. A New Name (Isaiah 62:2 and Revelation 2:17)
3. A New Heart (Ezekiel 18:31)
4. A New Spirit (Ezekiel 11:19)
5. A New Tongue (Mark 16:17 and Acts 2:4)
6. A New Commandment (John 13:34)
7. A New Heaven (Revelation 21:1)
8. A New Earth (Isaiah 66:22)

Watch this:

• Eight people were in the Ark when it rested on Ararat.  The Flood began in Cheshvan and ended the following year on Cheshvan.  Noah brought his sacrifice to God and God swore never again to flood the earth.
• Circumcision was performed on the eighth day. Luke 2:21
• King David was the eighth son of Jesse.
• Aaron and his sons began ministry on the eighth day.
• The word “born” was mentioned eight times in the conversation with Jesus and Nicodemus.
• The word “water” was mentioned eight times in the conversation with the Women at the Well.
• Elijah performed eight miracles.
• Elisha performed sixteen miracles. 8 x 2= 16
• Jesus rose on the eighth day. The first day of the week.
• The title of Jesus, “Redeemer” shows up eight times in Scripture.
• Psalms 119 is divided up in 22 sections with eight verses each.
• Eight Women were prophets in the Bible
• In Philippians 4:8 there are eight things to think upon: true, honest, just, pure, lovely, a good report, virtue and praise.
• There are 16 Jehovah Titles in the Bible. 8x2=16

Jehovah Eloheim, the Lord eternal Creator

Jehovah Adonai, the Lord our Master

Jehovah Jireh, the Lord our Provider

Jehovah Nissi, the Lord our Banner

Jehovah Rapha, the Lord our Healer

Jehovah Shalom, the Lord our Peace

Jehovah Tsidkeenu, the Lord our Righteousness

Jehovah Saboath, the Lord of Hosts

Jehovah Shammah, the Lord is Present

Jehovah Elyon, the Lord Most High

Jehovah Rohi, the Lord my Shepherd

Jehovah Hoseenu, the Lord our Maker

Jehovah Eloheenu, the Lord our God

Jehovah Eloheka, the Lord your God

Jehovah Elohay, the Lord my God

Jehovah Mikkadeshkem, the Lord our Sanctifier

The name of Jesus has the numerical value of 888 in the Greek.

While the number of the anti-christ is 666. The Greek number of Jesus is 111x8.  In Greek the name of Jesus is “Iesous” equals 888. 

And finally, God revealed the sign of His covenant with a Rainbow in the eighth month of Chesvan.  God birthed the USA in 1976 (888x2=1,976.)  God birthed USA because our forefathers loved God. 

So, may this eighth month of Chesvan be for you and your family a month of New Beginnings creating in you New Birth in Yeshua, King Jesus.
