Yeshua, The Light In Darkness
From this week’s Torah Reading, Exodus 10:21-23, “Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, darkness which may even be felt.” So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. They did not see one another; nor did anyone rise from his place for three days. But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.”
What jumped out of this passage to me was the last sentence, “but all the children of Israel had light in their dwelling place!”
The darkness was so great one could not see one another.
The darkness was so great it could be felt.
Nor did anyone rise from their place for three days… likened to the three days between Yeshua’s death and resurrection.
If there is any understanding of this physical darkness, it is a type and shadow, an example of the spiritual darkness that pervades man’s heart in society to day. This darkness does not want to let go. It wants to enslave you, blind you, so you can’t see or have no hope.
Like the children of Israel, my prayer is that you have the light of Jesus in your dwelling place, home, and heart. Shalom Shalom!
