Iyar The Month of Healing

Iyar Spiritual Significance

  • Name and Meaning: Iyar (אִיָּיר) is connected to the Hebrew word “or” (אוֹר), meaning “light,” or may be an acronym for “Ani Hashem Rofecha” (“I am the Lord, your Healer,” Exodus 15:26). This reflects Iyar’s themes of healing, revelation, and divine light. Iyar is connected to 6th Hebrew letter Vav. Vav is a connecting letter.
Exodus chapters 15 -18 revealed how God connected himself to the Israelites. God desired to MIDBAR —which is the Hebrew word meaning to lead, guide and counsel. So God brought the children of Israel to a place where he could speak and reveal his character. A time to be still and know God and listen to his voice.
In the NT Jesus reveals himself through his word.
